These 1949 fashion history design images for stylish pattern cutting are from a Summer 1949 German Façon Tailleur Magazine. The magazine aimed to give general tailors an idea of a good fashion line of the day. This particular Tailleur edition contained 20 individual drawings with fashion hats, back views and colours. They are prefect example of fashions that were interpreted through this late 1940s era of costume history. All 20 fashion design costume plates are shown below and they show the change from the forties more boxy suit with plain skirt, the swagger coat to the new fuller fitted trends shape of the fashionable New Look first shown by Dior in 1947.
