There was a new attitude in the catwalk fashion for Autumn/Winter 2012/2013;
we saw fashion styles dripped with embellishment, also colourful
baroque and floral damask ornament.
In this season the clothes and
accessories are lavish, fantastical, luxurious, powerful, edgy
and elegant. Look out for statement collars or collarless necklines,
and the accessory must-have is a hat.
Think of impact making 'I'm here' clothes, opulent fabrics, gem encrustation,
sumptuous velvets, crazy colour popping furs all alongside the contrast
of more minimalist cloth coats, sleek leathers, utilitarian military
coats, padded down quilted puffa jackets
or sedate country tweed pieces.
Gold and black feature heavily and is a perfect scheme to be
replaced by black and white for spring 2013.

Shopping online has never been so easy, with zoom facilities to

hot fashion trend.
Velvet, tartan tweed and
hothouse flower festivals dazzle with powerful patterns all
available to tempt you.
Everything is equally statement making, so brocade and
embroidered patterns can be mixed, but look best when kept
within the same colour spectrum.
Bright spots
or sturdy wide stripes embellish the most utilitarian of items
including the basic umbrella or wellingtons.
Texture in lace, sequins, beads and passementerie mix
alongside tweedy jackets. Button through tweed skirts
offer winter warmth and fashionable texture. The down feather quilted puffa jacket offers instant
utilitarian put me on now run-about everyday wear.

Shoe Accessories. The must-have footwear element
of 2012/13 is the embellished heels or decorative heel and
an ankle strap. In boots look for a wedge, plus lacing and
studding. For flats go for a loafer which is both practical
and fashion forward in 2012/2013.
Jewels and Gems - Think of large paste stones,
big pearls, Swarovski large crystal cabochons, black jet,
hologram sequins and Pailettes or Plexiglas pieces. Bold
neckwear jewellery, statement chokers, pendants, beaded
collars, or chandelier earrings add the finishing touch
luxurious statement to all these fashion themes above. The
gems don't stop at the neck, but brooches travel onto coats
and onto the hair too. Barrettes are popular hair
accessories. Big floppy hats or
1920s cloche styles rule the day.

Purple Power. Purple passion, princely purple,
purple luxury, regal purple - purple reigns for 2012/2013.
Add some purple to your closet whether in rich inky indigo
aubergine shades or the softer pinker rose amethyst and
lilac tones.
No longer the colour of the wealthy or elite of
society purple is colour for everyone - it certainly was the
colour of Autumn Winter 2012/13 fashion collections.
Edgy Winter Floral Bloom Fabrics - Flocked
Fabrics, Bold Florals and
Jacquards (Dolce&Gabbana). These are not soft wispy florals, but powerful prints
with an edgy, luxurious gilded touch that adds a new twist to
winter 2012/13 fashion trends. Mix all the different
textures and contrasting luxury fabrics together. Michael

Baroque Brocade Opulence - Jacquard brocade coats
or some in embroidered silks and satins add a sumptuous
finishing touch to winter evening wear. Black highlighted by
gold says baroque at is best. For more wearable day to
evening looks consider a pair of slim line brocade pants in
glistening silver or gold on black or rich bronze colours.
With youth on your side you can also consider hot pants with
the bling of embellished encrustation taking you to any
party, but the office party.

worn as a tunic or the alternative outfit of cropped cigarette
pants and a easy little jacket are real eye catchers for evening
wear. These pastel turquoise outfits are both from Dolce &
Gabbana AW12/13 collections. The gold lame cigarette pants and
sequin striped top shown right, is by retailer Vera Mont.
Oriental Motifs - Chinoiserie Decoration in dress
takes an inspiring new twist with meandering oriental forms
where dragons, meet flowers and exotic birds. Repeat
Chinoiserie patterns associated with the lands of the rising
sun and Samurai warrior have a reflection that only the use
of pure silk fabric can create. Wide obi belts, cheongsams
style dress, roomy kimono jackets and Mandarin wrap necks
add futuristic modern touches that are both classic and
novel.

Autumn 2012 Winter 2013 Silhouette Fashion Trends
Pattern flows onto coats, or colours are bright and statement
making.
Silhouette - Oversize Volume - Cocoon Coats, Billowing
Pants, Drop Shoulder Chunky Banana and Pillow Sleeves,
Blousy/Bouffant Skirts - all are part of the latest focus on
oversized volume.
Wear this look by contrasting pieces which are super slim
line and which emphasise the volume differences. The cocoon coat
is the season's hottest shape. Max Mara do this silhouette so
well, but if not your style try a simple puffa jacket.
Military Fashion Look Autumn 2012 Winter 2013/ Cinched
Waists
Right - Belted Mini Coat by DKNY - AW12/13.
The cinched waistline follows through on fitted coats which
are so opposite in line to the volume oversized versions of some
designers. McQueen 's coats show this so well and also combine
reference to both military and heritage fashion trends.
±
Military Mania - Key investment pieces are
military inspired. Coats, cardigans and jackets with
buttons, epaulets or military collars and colours are
functional and great winter wear. Pea coats offer the sort
version with less dating detail.
Note in particular the massive military collars
that could truly button up and double wrap across the bronchus
in extreme weather in true Dr Zhivago style. These large collars
have been seen across many fashion shows.

The military look and the country heritage fashion look are
closely aligned.
Autumn 2012 Winter 2013 Minimalist Look
Minimalist - Frill free, simple plain, spare, but well
cut pieces - especially coats (Balenciaga, Celine) jackets
and trousers all in neutral, subtle, expensive tones that
flow from season to season. Look for pastel pink nude coats,
milky coffee, severe pinstripes, sleek silhouettes and dusted colours.
The lines are spare and the fabric makes the statement. Note how
simple shapes also take on brighter colours whilst remaining
minimal in line. Tailored Crombie coats make this classic look a
safe reliable winning wearable trend year after year.

garment should suits a particular mood, in particular when
several pant leg styles are on offer.

Leather - The ladylike cuts sit next to more decadent
fetishist chain, studded and cutwork leather styles. Slim
line pencil and longer gaucho skirts or boxy jackets are
investment pieces. Leather cuffs or collars fast track this
fashion trend without overdoing the vixen woman. Buy black
or blue navy if you prefer to be ahead of the pack.

Winter always brings a desire for comfort clothes. Knitwear is
the first option whether cable knits or fair isle patterned
pieces. These are followed by cosy gilets, Toscana fur, faux fur
and chubby fur coats. Big cocoon style knits, cosy hats, fur
collars and tippets, winter weight hosiery, fur ear muffs and
fingerless gloves all add a practical fashion touch.
But the most practical winter coat to hit the high street and
take off as a mass fashion trend this year is the quilted puffa
jacket. Everyone from celebrity to next door neighbour seems to
have adopted the down filled jacket as a must-have run about
town item of ladies outerwear.
Ski Wear Slopes To The High Street Autumn 2012 Winter 2013

Country Looks with Textured and Fair Isle Knitwear
Knitwear - Chunky Jumpers, Textured Tops, Fair Isle
Yokes and Intarsia Knits - all these bring the sweater
back into serious fashion play. Dogtooth jacquard knit
tunics with cowl collars, batwing tunics, pocketed tunics
and boiled wool pieces contrast with cable knits and
traditional fair isle and machine knitted reversed fair isle
knitwear.

Fantasy Faux Furs - Traditional animal patterns
and fake fur fashion all sizzle with strident colour.
Short fur jackets and fur knee coats come in bright pops of
colour or shaded rainbows of rich brights that certainly
catch the eye. These fur fashions are not for the
faint hearted, but a brightly coloured fur accessory is a
way into this look. Fluffy fur handbags are in the stores
waiting for you. Fur accessories such as multi-coloured
fantasy snoods, huge Russian hats and patchwork fur stoles
steal the show.

Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton Spot Fashion & Accessories
The 1970s revival continues with 1970s wide lapel collar coats with flared skirts
at Louis
Vuitton. Trends to watch include large feature buttonholes as wide slits in the style of bound
welts so large they are usually reserved for pocket
openings. Large buttons were used in the 1950s and 60s, but its
about 200+ years since wide buttonholes were used on garments.
