Fashion Silhouettes Timeline

 1918 to 1919

By Pauline Weston Thomas for Fashion-Era.com

Fashion Silhouettes Timeline Drawings 1918 to 1919

I've studied costume drawings and fashion plates of the fashion history period 1918 and 1919.  Then I have drawn out these simple line drawings and finally enhanced aspects such as fur trims, and patterns with Paint Shop Pro.  The drawings on this page show some of the silhouette body shape outlines found in fashion history between 1918 to 1919 in the immediate post First World war years  Each thumbnail expands to produce an A4 print and is suitable for colouring in and producing timeline scenes, collage foundation guides or guidelines for amateur dramatics.

Like many costume enthusiasts, on occasions I need a basic simple costume history line image of a specific year.  These images should give you a clear understanding of the changing lines and variety of silhouettes within a few years of fashion history.  On this page look out for the natural waist beginning to move lower and starting to drop in some illustrations. Skirt lengths are longer after 1919.  Clothes were getting less structured compared to a fashion history period 20 years before and some of these styles could be worn today without attracting too much attention.
